Organizational Relationship
or Line of Authority:
- Directly responsible to the District Principal in all matters pertaining to the building.
- Jointly responsible to appropriate Principal/Supervisor in areas of instruction and curriculum.
Statement of Duties:
- Substitute daily for absent professional staff as determined by Principal/designee.
- Maintains and respects confidentiality of student and school personnel information.
- Must possess the ability to adapt to a variety of lesson plans when covering various subjects or grades.
- Provides summary of activities accomplished, lesson plans completed and not completed and any other additional information that the classroom teacher should be aware of.
- Maintains a safe and positive learning environment for all students and reports all student discipline issues to the appropriate authority.
- Adheres to district policies for staff.
- If there is not a need for a Teacher substitute for the day the BBS will be assigned another area of responsibility for the day.
- Performs other duties assigned by the Principal or directives of the Superintendent of Schools or his/her designee, and policies of the Haverhill School Committee.
Pre-School Hours of Work: 8:45 a.m. – 3:45 p.m.
Elementary Hours of Work: 8:45 a.m. – 3:45 p.m.
Middle School Hours of Work: 8:15 a.m. – 3:15 p.m.
High School Hours of Work: 7:15 a.m. – 2:15 p.m.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree, preferred
- Licensed by the State Department of Education in Massachusetts preferred
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent of Schools may find appropriate and acceptable.
